Transcribing tapes to help the refugees
The refugee crisis seems impossible to ignore, and the people I am connected with have dropped some of their other activities to concentrate on this. Sophia, a women's spirituality center in Adelaide, is involved in transcribing interviews with Woomera detainees, which support their applications for asylum. Sitting in front of a computer with a dictating machine is not the face to face I had in mind, but talking with the women who have come together at Sophia makes me feel happy that I am doing what I can to help.
